Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler.
The Spaniard joined PSG in the summer of 2022 after scoring 36 goals and providing 31 assists in 226 appearances for his hometown Valencia.
During his first season in the French capital, Soler featured in 38 matches, contributing seven goals and four assists.
After being moved in and out of the starting lineup last season, there was a belief that Luis Enrique's arrival would help Soler gain a regular starting spot.
In his previous role as Spain's national team head coach, Enrique had included Soler in his squad for the 2022 World Cup.

However, the Valencia academy product has had to settle for just two starts in seven competitive appearances this term.
Although Soler is under contract until the summer of 2027, there is already uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at the Parc des Princes.
Enrique is keen to bring in a new creative midfielder, but he will only be able to do so if PSG offload one of their current options in the middle of the park.
With Soler a candidate to make way, Le Parisien are reporting that Aston Villa are interested in bringing the 26-year-old to the Premier League.

Soler would offer versatility to Unai Emery's side, having previously played across the midfield, at right back and in attacking areas.
The report claims that Aston Villa could face competition from fellow Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.
A return to Valencia has also been mooted, but his former club would only be able to pay part of his salary due to their economic situation.
Soler, who has 14 international caps to his name, is believed to be open to the idea of a potential PSG departure.
