Borussia Dortmund are reportedly monitoring the situation with Aston Villa youngster Carney Chukwuemeka, who is yet to sign a long-term contract.

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly identified Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka as a potential summer transfer target.

With Erling Braut Haaland expected to depart Westfalenstadion later in 2022, Dortmund will have to prioritise replacing the Norway international.

However, according to Der Westen, Dortmund are also focused on raiding the Premier League market for yet another English youngster.

The report claims that the Bundesliga giants are interested in signing Chukwuemeka, who is highly regarded by Villa manager Steven Gerrard.

The 18-year-old has been provided with 188 minutes of Premier League football this season, game time which has allegedly not been enough to convince the teenager that he should commit his future to Villa past 2023.

Gerrard has acknowledged that the West Midlands outfit remain in negotiations with Chukwuemeka and his representatives over a new contract.

Chukwuemeka could be tempted into a switch to Dortmund having witnessed Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham both excel in Germany.
