Shay Given indicates that he is ready to leave Aston Villa following talks with manager Paul Lambert.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given has suggested that he will leave the club this summer following discussions with manager Paul Lambert.

Reports have claimed in The Herald that the shot-stopper has been considering his future with the Midlands outfit due to Brad Guzan taking his number one spot this season.

"Last night I had a meeting with manager Paul Lambert and we both agreed that I should be playing first-team football," the Irish Examiner quotes Given as saying. "And that's not happening at Villa right now."

The 37-year-old currently has a year remaining on his contract.
