Brad Guzan: ''I don't care about clean sheets'

Brad Guzan says that winning matches in more important to him than keeping clean sheets for Aston Villa.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has admitted that he does not care about keeping clean sheets, as long as his side avoid relegation this season.

The American has been in impressive form this year, with his performances keeping highly-rated shot-stopper Shay Given out of the side.

However, Guzan, who is a strong contender to feature in the PFA Team of the Year, has said that winning matches is more important than not conceding goals for Villa.

"A clean sheet would be nice. I feel confident and sharp. But we don't get caught up in stats," Guzan told The Mirror.

"At this point it's all about winning, I don't care if we win 5-4. If we win games, that's what it's about. It's about fighting for each other.

"We have to make sure we come out on top regardless of the scoreline. You have to limit the mistakes and chances we gave away against Liverpool. It didn't go our way, but it's a bit of bump in the road."

Villa are currently 18th in the Premier League.
