Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner will reportedly hand manager Paul Lambert a large transfer budget if the club survive in the Premier League this season.

Lerner is delighted with how his side have performed under Lambert since the turn of the year and during a recent revival which has seen them win five of their last eight games.

According to The Mirror, the American will hand the Scot funds to bolster his young squad in the summer if they achieve survival, as well as securing the futures of Christian Benteke, Brad Guzan and Andreas Weimann at the club.

Villa are currently 13th in the Premier League, five points clear of the relegation zone.
