Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has said that the club will decide on the future of Emile Heskey in the summer.
The veteran striker's contract runs out this summer and he has been linked with a move to his former club Leicester City.
However, McLeish has made it clear that his future will be decided at the end of the season. The Scot also hinted that the former England international's form will have a big impact on the decision.
"The overall position is that we'll review things at the end of the season," said McLeish.
"It's up to guys like big Emile to produce a few good performances between now and the end of the season by banging in a few goals, getting a few assists, and then we can address it at that time.
"Will he go back to Leicester in the summer? I haven't got a clue."
The 34-year-old joined Villa from Wigan in 2009 for a fee of £3.5m.
