Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer rumours including Tammy Abraham to Aston Villa, Pascal Gross to Borussia Dortmund and Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson to Newcastle United.

Aston Villa are reportedly weighing up a reunion with Roma striker Tammy Abraham this summer.

The 26-year-old spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Villa Park from Chelsea, scoring 26 goals in 40 appearances to help the Lions secure promotion from the Championship via the playoffs.

Abraham then completed a permanent transfer to Roma in 2021 and has since chipped in with 37 goals and 13 assists in 119 appearances across all competitions, although he was reduced to just 12 outings last season due to a serious knee injury.

According to Football Insider, Abraham "ticks a lot of boxes" for Aston Villa, who are considering bringing the English striker back to Villa Park.

The report adds that Roma are opening to parting ways with Abraham, who has two years remaining on his contract with the Italian outfit.

Aston Villa's pursuit of Abraham comes at a time when striker Jhon Duran has been tipped to leave the club this summer amid strong interest from Chelsea.

Dortmund open talks with Pascal Gross

Staying in the Premier League and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross is wanted by Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, according to a report.

The 33-year-old has made a total of 261 appearances for the Seagulls during his seven-year stay at the club and is their all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 30 goals.

Gross will soon be entering the final year of his contract at the Amex Stadium, but The Athletic claims that Brighton are in talks with the playmaker over a contract extension.

However, speculation over a possible return to his native Germany in the latter stages of his career is still rife, and Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that Gross's entourage have begun talks with Dortmund over a potential summer move.

Plettenberg states that negotiations between both parties are 'becoming more concrete' and are 'progressing very positively', but no verbal agreement has been reached just yet.

It is understood that Eintracht Frankfurt also hold an interest in Gross, who is valued between €7m (£5.9m) and €10m (£8.5m).

Newcastle eyeing move for Icelandic winger

Elsewhere, Newcastle United are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Icelandic winger Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson.

Eddie Howe is keen to bolster his squad in a number of key areas this summer and is thought to be targeting a new winger before the start of the 2024-25 season.

Recent reports have suggested that Newcastle are in the race to sign Crystal Palace's Michael Olise and Leeds United's Crysensio Summerville, but it is thought that the Magpies are not at the front of the queue for the signature of either player at present.

Should Newcastle opt to look elsewhere, ChronicleLive claims that they may consider stepping up their interest in 25-year-old Thorsteinsson, who plays for Belgian outfit OH Leuven.

Thorsteinsson, who has also attracted interest from West Ham United and Leicester City, is a 37-cap Iceland international and scored the only goal in a famous 1-0 friendly win over England at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.

The versatile winger, who has just one year remaining on his contract, contributed with seven goals and seven assists in 40 games for Leuven last season.
