Aston Villa express fresh interest in signing 20-year-old Loic Damour from Strasbourg.

Aston Villa have expressed fresh interest in signing Loic Damour from Strasbourg.

Former boss Gerard Houllier was rumoured to be interested in the 20-year-old midfielder in January and now Alex McLeish is spearheading a new effort to sign him.

According to talkSPORT, Damour is also being courted "by a host of clubs" in Ligue 1 and Bundesliga.

Damour could become available on a free transfer if Strasbourg, which is facing a new set of financial woes, is forced out of business.
