Lyon's sporting director Juninho has confirmed that out-of-favour forward Moussa Dembele is on the verge of a move to Atletico Madrid.
The Frenchman is currently sidelined with a broken arm but struggled for starts before his injury due to the form of Memphis Depay, Tino Kadewere and Karl Toko Ekambi.
Atletico were understood to have identified Dembele as an ideal replacement for the recently-departed Diego Costa, and Juninho has now revealed that a move to the Spanish capital is indeed on the cards.
Speaking to Telefoot, the Lyon chief said: "Moussa came to see me. He thinks that this is the moment to change teams, that he has lost a bit of motivation.
"This was not something we foresaw. I like him a lot. Keeping someone who does not really want to keep up the intensity through the next five months - that is not ideal.
"We are in talks with Atletico, I think that Moussa has found an agreement with Atletico."
Dembele has only found the back of the net once in 16 appearances for Lyon this term, starting just six top-flight games for the Ligue 1 leaders.
