Monaco confirm Thomas Lemar's move to Atletico Madrid

Monaco take to social media to confirm that Thomas Lemar is leaving the club to join Atletico Madrid.

Monaco have confirmed that Thomas Lemar is leaving the club this summer in order to join Atletico Madrid.

Lemar has been heavily linked with a departure from the Ligue 1 outfit for the past 12 months, with a number of Premier League sides known to be admirers of the France international.

However, Atletico reached a 'preliminary agreement' over a deal for Lemar before the World Cup, and Monaco have now acknowledged that the transfer is going ahead as planned.

The 22-year-old scored a total of 22 goals in 118 appearances for Monaco in all competitions, while one start was made for France on their way to winning the World Cup.
