Ruben Perez joins Elche on loan

Atletico Madrid midfielder Ruben Perez has joined newly-promoted La Liga outfit Elche on loan.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan with Real Betis, where he made 25 appearances during an impressive campaign for the Spanish outfit.

It was understood that Betis were keen to secure his signature for another season, but the emergence of Carlos Garcia has ended Pepe Mel's interest in the midfielder.

Perez will now spend the entirety of next season with Elche, who finished first in the Segunda Division last season.
