Spanish striker David Villa will be officially presented as an Atletico Madrid player on Monday.

Spanish striker David Villa will reportedly be presented with the number nine shirt for Atletico Madrid when he is unveiled to the media on Monday.

The 31-year-old, who agreed to join the capital outfit from Barcelona this summer, will be officially presented as an Atletico player at a press conference tomorrow morning.

According to various reports in Spain, the former Valencia forward will be handed the number nine shirt for his new club as an indication of his importance to the team next season.

Despite appearing mainly as a substitute for Barcelona last season, the experienced striker managed to score 10 times in La Liga.
