How Barcelona could line up against Inter Milan

Sports Mole takes a look at how Barcelona could line up in Tuesday's Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

Barcelona will be looking to move onto 12 points in Group B when they travel to Italian giants Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Barca, who last won the Champions League in 2015, sit atop Group B with three wins from three, and will enter this match off the back of five straight wins in all competitions.

Inter suffered a 2-0 defeat when they travelled to Camp Nou in the reverse match last month, but the Italian giants have beaten Lazio 3-0 and Genoa 5-0 in their two Serie A matches since then.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Barcelona, who appear to be hitting top form entering the latter stages of 2018, could line up at San Siro.

BAR XI

Out: Samuel Umtiti (knee), Thomas Vermaelen (hamstring)
Doubtful: Lionel Messi (arm)

Lionel Messi is expected to travel with the Barcelona team this week after making a quick recovery from a fractured arm. Messi picked up the injury against Sevilla on October 20, and it had been thought that he would not return until the middle of November.

It seems unlikely that Messi will be risked from the start against Inter, but he could well be named on the bench, which will be a huge boost for Ernesto Valverde's team at this stage of the season.

As a result, there is a spot open in the final third alongside Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho, and Ousmane Dembele is in a strong position to start ahead of Rafinha having come off the bench to score against Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.

Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen remain on the sidelines, meaning that the back five picks itself, while Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Arthur should continue in the middle of the park.
