Luis Enrique wary of Atletico Madrid threat

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique admits that Atletico Madrid are a "very dangerous" team ahead of the Champions League quarter-final first leg between the two sides.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has admitted that Atletico Madrid are a "very dangerous" side ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg between the two teams.

Barca will welcome Diego Simeone's side to Camp Nou looking to take another step towards becoming the first club to successfully defend the Champions League title.

However, Enrique acknowledged that Atletico, who currently sit second behind his side in La Liga, would be no pushovers.

"Atletico Madrid are a top-notch team, very dangerous in different ways, and very complete. That's why they are where they are," he told reporters.

"We will not change our style of play. We want to control the ball on their side of the field and ensure the fewest number of transitions to prevent counter-attacks. The goal is to play better than our opponents because that will lead us closer to victory.

"We'd like to win without conceding goals, if possible. If we can be better than them, we have to take advantage of it because we will have a very tough return leg."

Barcelona saw their Spanish record 39-match unbeaten streak in all competitions come to an end at the hands of bitter rivals Real Madrid in Saturday's El Clasico at Camp Nou.
