Barcelona are worried about Ousmane Dembele's slow return from his latest hamstring issue, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly worried by Ousmane Dembele's ongoing issues when it comes to recovering from a hamstring problem, with the club still unsure when he will return to action.

The 25-year-old had been in impressive form for the Catalan outfit before picking up a hamstring injury in the La Liga contest with Girona at the end of January.

Dembele has eight goals and seven assists in 28 appearances this season, and he had been in influential form for Xavi's side in the first half of the campaign.

Initially, the France international was expected to be out for a month, but the return date was then pushed back to the middle of March.

Dembele has still not been able to return to the field, though, with the forward again missing for Barcelona's last match against Girona on Monday night.

According to journalist Javi Miguel, Dembele's current injury problem is causing huge worry at the club, especially considering his previous issues with his hamstrings, which have caused him to miss a number of matches at Camp Nou.

The report claims that it is still unclear when the Frenchman could be available for selection once again, as he is making such slow progress in his recovery from the issue.

Barcelona's elimination from the Copa del Rey at the semi-final stage, in addition to their lack of European action, means that they only have league football to focus on for the rest of the season.

Xavi's side are next in action against Getafe on Sunday afternoon before also facing Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis in the latter stages of April.

Dembele will allegedly definitely be out for the team's next three matches, but he is thought to have a slight chance of returning against Real Betis on April 29.

There is also currently uncertainty surrounding the attacker's future at Camp Nou, with his current deal due to expire in the summer of 2024.

A recent report claimed that contract discussions had stalled, as the Catalan outfit are currently unable to offer him a pay rise on his current deal due to their financial problems.

As well as Dembele, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Andreas Christensen are currently on the treatment table for Barcelona, who moved 13 points clear at the top of the La Liga table on Monday night with their goalless draw against Girona.
