Javier Mascherano has reportedly been earmarked as a potential future manager for Barcelona.
The Argentine international moved to Camp Nou from Liverpool in 2010 and has won three La Liga titles and two Champions League crowns with the Spanish giants.
Mascherano is contracted to Barcelona as a player until June 2018, but according to Marca, the Catalan outfit see the midfielder-turned-defender as a future coach due to his understanding of the game.
The 31-year-old, who has earned 123 caps for his country, is widely expected to return to Argentina in a playing capacity before hanging up his boots.
