Report: Barcelona's Javier Mascherano rejects China move

A report claims that Barcelona centre-back Javier Mascherano has rejected the chance to join an unnamed Chinese Super League club.

Barcelona centre-back Javier Mascherano has reportedly rejected the chance to join an unnamed Chinese club.

The Argentine international, who has been converted from a midfielder to a defender during his time in Spain, joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2010 and has already won two Champions League crowns with the Catalan giants.

According to Mundo Deportivo, an unidentified Chinese Super League club presented a big-money contract offer to the 31-year-old, but Mascherano quickly rejected the offer as he prepares to remain at Camp Nou.

It is widely thought that Mascherano will return to Argentine football before hanging up his boots.
