Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has branded Real Valladolid's pitch "a disgrace" following their La Liga meeting on Saturday night.
Ousmane Dembele scored the only goal of the match as Barcelona made it two wins from two in the league this season.
The pitch at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla was a huge talking point, however, with the surface, which was only laid on Thursday, noticeably cutting up inside the first five minutes of action.
Pique has now urged "those responsible" to "fix it" due to the risk that it poses to professional footballers.
"The pitch was a disgrace, it's a real shame," Marca quotes Pique as saying. "It's been a match played in a field, and those who want to sell the product and take matches to the United States should really look at what's going on at home.
"It's not a case of not being able to play football, the real issue is that there is a risk of injury to professionals, I hope those responsible for this will take action and fix it."
Next up for Barcelona is a home league game against Huesca on September 2.
