Dani Alves: 'Surviving at Barcelona is a personal challenge of mine'

Barcelona defender Dani Alves describes his seven-year spell at the Nou Camp as 'survival', but wants to leave with his head held high.

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has expressed his desire to leave the Camp Nou with his head held high, also claiming that remaining part of the Blaugrana's setup was "a personal challenge".

The 31-year-old has previously admitted that he will be leaving Barcelona in the close season, and hinted at a move to the Premier League.

Alves is quoted as saying by Marca: "I've survived because I know the expectations that there always are here. I always set myself challenges and staying at Barca is a personal challenge of mine. I want to leave with a feeling that my time at Barca has been awesome.

"I never think in the long term. So in the short term I want to see out my current contract here."

Alves, who has won four La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies at the Camp Nou, was linked to Chelsea and Manchester United earlier this year.
