Valencia are reportedly pushing to extend the contract of Barcelona-linked left-back Jose Gaya.
The 26-year-old has spent his entire senior career with Los Che after rising through the youth ranks, but his deal at the Mestalla is due to expire in the summer of 2023.
With Barcelona expected to be in the market for a Jordi Alba successor in the summer window, Gaya has been strongly linked with a switch to Camp Nou at the end of the season.
However, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that talks between Valencia and Gaya over a new deal are ongoing, with Los Che proposing a new offer to the Spain international.
Romano adds that a deal to bring Gaya to Camp Nou would be 'complicated', and Barca are keeping tabs on a number of other left-back options, including Tottenham Hotspur's Sergio Reguilon.
Gaya has scored two goals and set up four more in 17 La Liga appearances for Valencia this season and has won one Copa del Rey crown with his boyhood club.
