Barcelona president Sandro Rosell reassures Messi over Nou Camp future

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell personally contacts Lionel Messi to reassure him over his future at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has personally contacted Lionel Messi to reassure him over his future at the Nou Camp.

With recent signing Neymar in top form for the Catalan club, there has been speculation that Messi would be on the way out after a series of injury problems have prevented him from reaching top form in 2013.

The Blaugrana president, keen to address the issue, called the Argentine international and his father Jorge Messi to reassure the 26-year-old that the club have no plans to let him go anytime soon, reports El Mundo Deportivo.

Messi is still recovering from a serious hamstring injury sustained in early November, which followed a series of other knocks that have limited him to 11 games in La Liga this season.

He is expected to return in January.
