Marc Bartra has revealed that contract negotiations with Barcelona are "on the right track".
The 22-year-old had been linked with a move away from the Spanish champions in the summer after struggling for first-team football last season.
However, the Spanish international has enjoyed a run in the Barca XI this campaign following injuries to Javier Mascherano and Carlos Puyol.
"I'm not going to go into the matter of my contract renewal. The most important thing for me right now is to play well, ensure that I keep up the level I've been playing at, so that this earns me my renewal and for many other things in the future," he told reporters at a press conference.
"At no time have I considered leaving Barca. My renewal is on the right track."
Bartra came through the youth ranks at the Catalan outfit.
