Bayern Munich loanee Philippe Coutinho to return to Barcelona in summer?

Bayern Munich reportedly intend to send Philippe Coutinho back to Barcelona during the summer rather than push through a permanent deal for the playmaker.

Bayern Munich are reportedly unlikely to push through the permanent signing of Philippe Coutinho during the summer transfer window.

When securing a season-long loan deal for the playmaker last year, Bayern were also provided with the option to sign the Brazilian on a full-time basis for £102m.

With the 27-year-old contributing seven goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season, the activation of that clause appeared to be a possibility.

However, Bild claims that the German side's hierarchy are not prepared to pay such a figure at the end of the campaign.

Unless Bayern change their mind, Coutinho faces returning to Camp Nou, with the Catalan outfit likely to try to sell him to another team.

The former Liverpool man still has three-and-a-half years left on his Barcelona contract.
