Napoli have eyed up the potential signing of Barcelona's Memphis Depay as a replacement for the departing Lorenzo Insigne in the summer, according to a report.
Thirty-year-old Insigne will leave Naples in June after agreeing a free transfer move to MLS side Toronto, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Now Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti and the hierarchy have looked into Depay as a direct replacement for their captain, according to Calciomercato.
The report states how there would supposedly be no issue on the two clubs agreeing a transfer fee in the deal, but that the Dutchman's wages at the Catalan side could be an issue.
Recent reports have suggested Barca could look to sell the 28-year-old in the summer, having only joined the club last July on a free transfer move from Lyon.
Depay has made 16 La Liga appearances so far this season, scoring eight goals, but his debut campaign has been hit by several injury problems, as well as the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in the January transfer window.
