Report: Barcelona want low-cost Darijo Srna

A report claims that Barcelona could move for Shakhtar Donetsk full-back Darijo Srna in the January transfer window.

Shakhtar Donetsk full-back Darijo Srna is Barcelona's leading defensive target ahead of the January transfer window, according to a report.

The Spanish champions are widely expected to move for a new right-back in the winter window as Aleix Vidal prepares to depart, while Sergi Roberto has not convinced in that role in recent weeks.

A number of players have been linked with Camp Nou, but TV3 reports that head coach Luis Enrique wants a low-cost full-back rather than a big-money signing, which has pointed the club towards Srna.

The 34-year-old, who represented Croatia on 134 occasions between 2002 and 2016, has spent the last 13 years with Shakhtar, winning eight Ukrainian titles in the process.
