Bastian Schweinsteiger eyes Champions League semi-final

Bastian Schweinsteiger says that Bayern Munich must capitalise on their 2-0 first-leg victory over Marseille at the Allianz Arena.

Bastian Schweinsteiger has urged Bayern Munich to "make the most" of their first-leg lead over Marseille in their Champions League quarter-final clash.

The two teams meet at the Allianz Arena tonight, with the Bavarian club holding a two-goal lead courtesy of strikes from Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben.

Schweinsteiger, who is suspended after picking up his third yellow card, said that the team have put to bed their patchy domestic form since the winter break.

"At the moment, there's total desire in the team, and all credit for that," said the German international. "We have to make the most of our good position in the Champions League on Tuesday thanks to victory in Marseille."

Bayern are currently three points behind Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.
