Bastian Schweinsteiger returns to Bayern Munich training

Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger steps up his recovery from the knee injury that has prevented him from playing this season by undergoing a fitness session.

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Bastian Schweinsteiger has returned to training this weekend.

The 30-year-old has not played since he helped Germany to win the World Cup in Brazil in July because of a knee injury.

However, his appearance at Bayern's training ground has suggested that he is closing in on a return to action in the not too distant future.

The midfielder underwent a 30-minute session with fitness trainer Holger Broich.
