Hansi Flick to take charge of Bayern Munich 'for rest of the season'

Bayern Munich reportedly come to a deal that will see Hansi Flick, who has been interim coach since Niko Kovac's sacking, remain in charge until the end of the season.

Bayern Munich have reportedly come to a deal that will see Hansi Flick remain in charge until at least the end of the season.

The 54-year-old former Bayern midfielder replaced Niko Kovac in the dugout following the Croatian's sacking last month.

Flick has overseen eight victories in his 10 games in charge, the most recent coming on Saturday when the Bavarian club saw off Wolfsburg 2-0.

It is believed that following the usual post-match meeting between Flick, Bayern chairman and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, a deal was agreed for the current interim boss to remain in place until at least the end of this season.

Bild reports that although Bayern ideally want current Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel to take over permanently in the summer, they have been impressed with Flick and they would want him to continue in some capacity.
