Thomas Muller takes swipe at sacked boss Carlo Ancelotti

Bayern Munich attacker Thomas Muller says that 'training will be good again' now that Carlo Ancelotti has been replaced by Jupp Heynckes at the Allianz Arena.

Thomas Muller has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Carlo Ancelotti by suggesting that the passion has been restored at Bayern Munich following the Italian's departure.

Ancelotti was sacked by the Bundesliga giants a fortnight ago, five months after lifting the title and less than halfway through his three-year contract.

Jupp Heynckes has been ushered in for a fourth spell in charge, the most recent of which ended with a famous treble in 2013, and Muller has declared himself happy with the appointment.

"We will have a good training again," he told Welt. "Heynckes is the right man because he can inspire the team to have the ability to suffer more, to have more commitment and a better defensive setup.

"Heynckes will work with interest and passion. There are several screws that need to be turned. The team have some responsibilities to carry out."

Bayern president Uli Hoeness revealed that five players turned against Ancelotti in his final days, with Muller rumoured to be among them.
