Gabriel Calderon blasts La Liga refereeing

Real Betis boss Gabriel Calderon blasts the standard of refereeing in La Liga following Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Sevilla.

Real Betis boss Gabriel Calderon has blasted the standard of refereeing in La Liga.

The Argentine, who has previously claimed that Betis have no respect from officials, made the comments following Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Sevilla - where Betis had Juan Carlos sent from the field by referee Velasco Carballo, as well as conceding a first-half penalty.

"It's not just in derbies, I don't think I've ever seen such a poor level of refereeing," Inside Spanish Football quotes Calderon as saying.

"I'm a FIFA qualified instructor, I've travelled the world and what we're seeing in La Liga is shameful."

Betis remain bottom of the La Liga table, 10 points from safety with just five games remaining.
