Real Betis have reportedly set their sights on signing West Ham United defender Fabian Balbuena, whose contract at the London Stadium expires at the end of this month.
After only making 14 Premier League appearances for David Moyes's side this season, the lowest total in his Hammers career, Balbuena was reportedly told by the club that he is free to leave this summer.
It is believed that Real Betis are competing with Lazio and Dynamo Moscow for Balbuena's signature, but the Spanish outfit are the leading candidates to land the centre-back.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Betis are keen to sign Balbuena as a replacement to Aissa Mandi, who is set to leave the club when his contract expires on June 30.
Balbuena is currently on international duty with Paraguay and played his first full 90 minutes since the end of January in Paraguay's goalless draw with Uruguay last week.
Since he arrived in East London in 2018, Balbuena has made 61 appearances for West Ham and scored three goals along the way.
