Serbian striker Nikola Zigic has been included in Birmingham City's development squad for this afternoon's friendly against Liverpool and appears to be a step closer to rejoining the club.
The 34-year-old was released by the Blues over the summer but recently returned to the club to train with them after the appointment of new manager Gary Rowett.
Birmingham revealed on their website today that Zigic would feature in this afternoon's behind-closed-doors game against Liverpool at the Reds' academy base.
In four seasons with Birmingham, Zigic scored 36 goals after a £6m move from Valencia.
