El-Hadji Diouf is given a five-year international ban after comments he made about corruption in African football.

El-Hadji Diouf has been given a five-year ban from the Senegalese Football Federation after comments he made about corruption in African football.

The Blackburn Rovers striker said in an interview with Radio France International that "the whole system of African football is corrupt".

The 30-year-old has been given the opportunity to explain himself, and potentially lift the ban, by facing a disciplinary enquiry.

The forward has already not appeared for a hearing which was scheduled for July 20.
