Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean says that his side are showing improvement following their 1-0 victory over Hull City.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has said that his side are showing improvement following their 1-0 victory over Hull City.

The Rovers boss was critical of his side's first-half performance at Ewood Park, but pointed out that they raised their game after the break.

"In the first half I felt we were keeping the ball well but we didn't ask enough questions of Hull. We didn't play it through the lines quick enough," Kean said.

"We had to be patient, but sometimes in the first half we didn't really get anywhere. In the second half I felt it was much better, we opened them up a lot more."

Colin Kazim-Richards scored the only goal of the game to give Blackburn all three points.

"We had to win the game, if it had just been a point then last Saturday's game wouldn't have been a good point. Now we have three points and that makes the point at Ipswich an excellent one," he added.

"We now face Leicester on Saturday, we are a good side and I think we are improving."

The result moves Blackburn up to fourth place in the Championship table.
