Blackburn can only manage a draw in their first game back in the Championship as a late own goal gives Ipswich a point.

Blackburn Rovers have failed to win their first game back in the Championship, only managing a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town.

Blackburn had the first real chance of the match after 11 minutes when Colin Kazim-Richards forced a save from Scott Loach.

The loanee striker wouldn't have to wait long for a goal on his league debut, however, as he nodded in a corner from just six yards 10 minutes later to give the visitors the lead.

Lee Martin came close twice in quick succession for the hosts at the end of the half, first forcing a save from Paul Robinson before heading over from the resulting corner.

Kazim-Richards continued the threaten for Rovers, and he almost doubled his side's lead five minutes into the second half when his attempted lob floated just over the bar.

The hosts looked like they needed a bit of luck to get an equaliser, and they got it less than 10 minutes from time as Jason Lowe diverted the ball into his own net to make it 1-1.

Ipswich's next match comes against Watford on Tuesday evening, while Blackburn host Hull the next day.
