Jordan Rhodes to return after international break

Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes could return to action next week after the ankle injury suffered on international duty with Scotland wasn't as bad as first feared.

Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes could be fit to face Reading next weekend after tests showed that his ankle injury wasn't as bad as first feared.

Rhodes was forced to return to Ewood Park for treatment after suffering an ankle problem after being called up for Scotland's game with the USA.

However, after it was initially feared that he could miss the remainder of 2013, tests have revealed that the 23-year-old could return to action next weekend.

Rhodes has netted 37 times in 58 appearances since moving from Huddersfield Town in 2012.
