Blackburn Rovers beat Leicester City 2-1 at Ewood Park thanks to goals from Nuno Gomes and Morten Gamst Pedersen.

Blackburn Rovers have beaten Leicester City 2-1 to move into third in the Championship table this afternoon.

The hosts took the lead after 35 minutes in the first opening of the game. Jason Lowe's ball found Nuno Gomes and the former Portugal international fired a low shot in from the edge of the box.

Leicester responded 10 minutes into the second half when Jamie Vardy's low strike from just inside the penalty area brought them back level.

Rovers were not about to give up a potential three points, however, and retook the lead with just 10 minutes left on the clock as Morten Gamst Pedersen found the bottom-right corner with a shot from 18 yards.

Steve Kean's men managed to hold out for the three points. They will face MK Dons in the League Cup on Tuesday, while Leicester face Burton Albion.
