Neil McDonald eases Colin Doyle injury fears

Blackpool boss Neil McDonald reveals that goalkeeper Colin Doyle's shoulder injury will keep him out of action for up to three weeks.

Blackpool goalkeeper Colin Doyle's shoulder injury is not as bad as first feared, it has been revealed.

The 30-year-old was stretchered off during his debut in the 2-2 draw at Colchester United last weekend.

It was initially thought that Doyle could be out of action until November, but manager Neil McDonald expects the Irishman to return within the next month.

"Colin's shoulder has settled down a little bit and it's not as bad as we first thought," he is quoted as saying by The Gazette. "There's a little bit of damage there but hopefully it will settle down.

"Fingers crossed he could be available in two or three weeks, rather than the two or three months it could have been."

Kyle Letheren, Blackpool's only other senior goalkeeper, made his debut in Tuesday night's 3-0 League Cup defeat against Northampton Town.
