Half-Time Report: Jermaine Beckford puts Bolton Wanderers in front

Jermaine Beckford's goal gives Bolton Wanderers a 1-0 lead going into the break in their Championship match against Barnsley.

Jermaine Beckford's goal has given Bolton Wanderers a 1-0 lead going into the break in their Championship match against Barnsley this afternoon.

Bolton's Robert Hall shot straight at Barnsley keeper Luke Steele early on before Beckford put an effort well over.

Beckford soon fired over the bar again in a scrappy start for both sides.

Dale Jennings, however, really should have scored for Barnsley, but he put the ball over the crossbar with the goal at his mercy.

Steele then had to produce a point blank save to deny the dangerous Beckford yet again.

Beckford eventually found a way through Barnsley's defence before the break when he took the ball around Steele and tapped in.
