Owen Coyle: I'm better than before

Owen Coyle says that he is a "better" manager than ever before, despite his team being bottom of the Premier League.

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has said that he is a "better" manager than ever before, despite his team being bottom of the Premier League table.

Bolton face fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers tonight to determine who will be in last place for Christmas.

"Am I as good a manager as I have always been before? The answer is probably better," he said.

Coyle also insists that he has the full backing of the Bolton owners and the board.

"I don't know what they have said publicly but I know what they have said to me," he added.

"I have a terrific relationship with them and they know what I am putting in place at this football club. But because that is behind the scenes, a lot of people don't see that.

"We know it is about points because no matter all the pieces of the jigsaw you might be putting in place, that has to be done on the back of good results."

Bolton have taken just nine points from 16 games this season.
