A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly making racist remarks on Twitter about Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba.

Former England youth international Muamba is currently fighting for his life in London Chest Hospital after he collapsed during his side's FA Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday evening.

It has since been revealed that the 23-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest on the White Hart Lane pitch.

Footballers and supporters took to Twitter to post messages of support for Muamba.

However, an unnamed man from the Swansea area reportedly made racist comments about the former Arsenal player.

South Wales Police have now confirmed that the man is being held in custody at Swansea Central police station.
