Sports Mole analyses Bordeaux's 1-1 draw with Lille at home in Ligue 1 on Friday.

A last-gasp equaliser from Marko Basa saw Lille hold Bordeaux to a 1-1 draw at Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas in their Ligue 1 encounter on Friday.

Basa's header in the final minute of injury time cancelled out Ludovic Obraniak's goal for the hosts in the 18th minute.

It was an exciting game of football that saw a plethora of chances created and wasted, and here Sports Mole takes a closer look to see if the result was fair.

Match statistics:

Bordeaux:
Shots 13
On target 5
Possession 35%
Corners 3
Fouls 15

Lille:
Shots 12
On target 6
Possession 65%
Corners 4
Fouls 18

Was the result fair?

More or less, yes. Bordeaux had less possession by far but they knew what to do with the ball and how to create their attacking moves when they had it. However, Lille never showed any lack of persistence and their equaliser in the final minute of injury time was deserved on the basis of the commitment and hard work they exhibited tonight.

Bordeaux's performance

Bordeaux had the better chances of the two teams and were also denied by the frame of the Lille goal once. Les Girondins should be pleased with the way they crafted their attacking moves but coach Francis Gillot will be disappointed in his team's inability to close the game earlier and concede a last-gasp equaliser.

Lille's performance

Lille will need to work on how to turn their possession into something more productive and will also have to make sure that they do not keep themselves exposed to quick counter attacks. Coach Rudi Garcia will be pleased with how his players eventually rescued a point, but he will hope for a more improved display in all departments in their next game.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Cedric Carrasso: The Bordeaux goalkeeper was an important figure at the back and made a number of important saves. Carrasso caught everything that Lille had to throw at him, including a superb save from a Nolan Roux shot late on in the match. He could do nothing for the visitors' equaliser in injury time really.

Referee's performance

Ruddy Buquet gave a thoroughly professional display tonight and made all the right decisions. He had full control over the game and never let any situation boil over.

What next?

Bordeaux: Bordeaux will be looking to get back to winning ways with an away victory over Maritimo in the Europa League on Thursday before travelling to Bastia in Ligue 1 next weekend.

Lille: Next up for Lille is a home clash with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday. The former French champions then entertain Valenciennes in Ligue 1.
