Borussia Dortmund "will never sack Jurgen Klopp"

Under-fire Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has done too much good for the club to be sacked, according to CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has insisted that the club "will never sack" under-fire coach Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp has found himself under intense pressure at Signal Iduna Park this season, as Dortmund sit level on points with bottom-placed Freiburg in the Bundesliga table and are candidates for a shock relegation.

The 47-year-old led the club to back-to-back German titles in 2011 and 2012, as well guiding them to the final of the Champions League in 2013, and Watzke says that he has done too much good to be axed.

"We will never sack Jurgen Klopp," he told Bild. "He has a lot of merits at the club. It will never come to a confrontational situation with him."

On Wednesday, Klopp insisted that his "batteries are full" as he looks to steer Dortmund away from danger when they resume league duties on January 31 following the winter break.
