Hans-Joachim Watzke: 'Marco Reus would love to stay at Borussia Dortmund'

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke claims that reported Real Madrid and Liverpool target Marco Reus would love to stay at the club.

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has claimed that Marco Reus would be open to extending his stay at the club.

Reports have suggested that Real Madrid are leading a hotly-contested race to sign the 25-year-old next summer, but Watzke believes that the attacking midfielder is still enjoying life in Dortmund.

"I believe that fundamentally Marco would love to stay here because he loves the city and he loves Borussia Dortmund," the Dortmund executive told Stern Magazine.

"But I'm sure the people who are interested in him moving will provide him with other arguments."

Reus, who is believed to have a £20m release clause in his contract, is currently out of action with an ankle injury.
