Lee Bradbury bemoans lack of time at Bournemouth

Former Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury says that he wished he could have launched the Cherries to promotion before being dismissed last weekend.

Lee Bradbury has admitted that he is "very disappointed" at being dismissed from League One side Bournemouth.

The 36-year-old was sacked from the 13th-placed club by chairman Eddie Mitchell on Sunday, despite joining the Cherries last season.

"I would like to clarify the fact that I did not resign or leave by mutual consent, the chairman decided he wanted a change and I was dismissed," Bradbury said in a statement via the League Managers' Association.

"I am naturally very disappointed that I have not been give time to see the fruition of all the hard work that has gone in to developing the current squad of players.

"I felt that we would be in a position to make a positive challenge for promotion next season, but it was not to be."

The club's youth team manager Paul Groves and head of youth Shaun Mitchell will take charge of the first team until a permanent boss has been appointed.
