Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that the money received from Adam Lallana's transfer from Southampton to Liverpool should go straight to owner Maxim Demin.
The Championship outfit will be handed 25% of the reported £25m fee that Liverpool paid to secure the signature of the England international.
The clause was made when the 26-year-old moved to Southampton's academy from the Cherries back in 2000.
"I think the owner has put so much money into the football club that if he gets some back then that is a good thing," Howe told BBC Radio Solent. "I think this is a nice thing for him rather than it being used by us to strengthen the squad even further."
Meanwhile, Lallana has taken a full-page advert out in the Southern Daily Echo to bid farewell to the Southampton supporters.
