Dan Gosling: 'I wasn't given fair chance to succeed at Newcastle United'

New Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling believes that he was not given the "fairest of chances" during his time at Newcastle United.

New Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling has claimed that he wasn't given a 'fair chance' at Newcastle United to prove his worth.

The 24-year-old signed for Eddie Howe's Cherries side at the end of last season after leaving St James' Park.

The midfielder spent four years with the Magpies, but failed to secure a regular first-team spot at the North-East outfit under manager Alan Pardew.

Gosling told the Daily Echo: "I don't think I had the fairest of chances but that's football, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It was a place that I really enjoyed, but the football side was not what I had hoped for."

The former Everton player agreed a four-year deal with Bournemouth in May.
