Ramires: 'Germany defeat will haunt us'

Ramires concedes that Brazil's World Cup squad are likely to be remembered for their humiliating 7-1 semi-final loss to Germany.

Ramires has suggested that Brazil's World Cup squad will struggle to ever recover from the embarrassment of losing 7-1 to Brazil in the semi-final.

Speaking after the hosts ended their campaign with a 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands in the third-place playoff, Ramires admitted that Luiz Felipe Scolari's side are likely to be remembered for their failure in the last four.

"We didn't expect to concede seven in the last match," the Chelsea midfielder told Globo. "We are all sad, there's not much left to say.

"We can't point at each other right now. We all lose together. This result will be a stain on this group for the remainder of our lives but we have to try and keep walking tall, to look for comfort with our families."

Scolari is expected to meet with Brazil's football association (CBF) to discuss his future.
