A brace from teenage substitute Saido Berahino helps Brentford to a comfortable four-goal victory over Carlisle this evening.

Brentford brushed aside the challenge of Carlise at Griffin Park this evening to edge closer to the League One playoffs.

A brace from new teenage loan signing Saido Berahino either side of half time was accompanied by first-half efforts from Harlee Dean and Sam Saunders.

The Bees began strongly and Leon Legge headed over early on before Dean put the home side ahead.

Saunders was the supplier, swinging over a free kick which Dean rose highest to meet and nod low into the net.

Berahino was introduced as a substitute shortly after due to an injury to Gary Alexander and it didn't take the 18-year-old long to make an impact.

He would get on the scoresheet four minutes before the break by converting Shaleum Logan's centre from 12 yards but not before Saunders had doubled the lead by slotting home from inside the area.

Three goals down at the break, Carlisle came out from the dressing room and offered very little aside from long-range strikes on the Brentford goal.

Berahino scored his second and Brentford's fourth eight minutes after the interval by curling home an effort from the edge of the area.

The home side, who move up to ninth in the table - five points off the playoffs, saw out the remaining half hour or so with ease.
