Brentford have reportedly received a positive update as target Dion Charles continues a stand-off with current club Accrington Stanley.
The Bees reportedly battled with Championship outfit Nottingham Forest over the summer for the forward, but Accrington fended off the interest to keep him at the club.
According to Football League World, Charles continues to battle with his club over a new contract, with the Northern Ireland international reportedly keen to depart at the end of his current deal in the summer.
The report suggests that the 26-year-old risks being frozen out of the first-team squad entirely if he continues to reject an extension, while he will be permitted to discuss a pre-contract agreement with other clubs from the beginning of the new year.
Thomas Frank was said to be keen to bring Charles to the club over the summer and is set to reignite his interest with the possibility of capturing him on a free transfer for the beginning of next season.
